Host John Flavin wants to paraphrase Bill Clinton and advise the proponents of Measure D that “It’s the Business Deal. . .” The Measure D business terms do not connect the price we are paying for fire protection to the cost of providing the service and the Fire District wins if the cost is lower or higher than the 45% of our property taxes. John also lays out how nearly impossible it would be to reverse the annexation and how pensions will add to the cost of the measure going forward. Many of the proponents of Measure D were architects of the ugly and irresponsible financing of the public safety buildings. They oversimplified that financing and they are doing the same with respect to Measure D. Vote No on D.
