The Last Dance 001: New Show!
The Last Dance premiers this Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 10am and 6pm. It is the creation of Marin County native Dizzy Jones who delights in melding modern style with traditional taste. Listeners will enjoy music from such artists as Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong as well as today’s hottest local groups like Slim Jenkins and Stompy Jones.
The Last Dance is something totally new on the radio. A tantalizing blend of sultry swing, moody blues, and modern soul, the show also spotlights local events and offers advice on style, love, and life in general. Anything having to do with vibrant living and vintage sensibility is fair game.
Jones is making her radio debut with The Last Dance. A classically trained actor, Dizzy Jones also has a background in musical theatre and dramatic literature. She has been the featured actor in local productions receiving rave reviews for her work (“Stunningly beautiful and superbly confident” — Marin IJ). Ms. Jones promises, “I’ve got lots of ideas, and I can’t wait to get started. I think people are really going to enjoy The Last Dance.”

Live Broadcast from the Community Garage Sale!
Last weekend, Radio Sausalito broadcast life from the City of Sausalito Community Garage Sale. It was a beautiful day and over 700 people showed up to buy and sell and trade. While people tuned in to our signal, the city set up a radio and speakers on top of a nearby building so that our broadcast could be heard by the entire sale.
Ruthann and Emma (from Gumbo) were on the air along with our engineer Leon Reid. Later in the day, DJ Dizzy Jones had her on-air debut and spun some tunes. A special thanks to the many listeners stopped by and thanked us for the great jazz and programming. It was a great day for everyone!
