Club Hangover Revisited

Club Hangover Revisited – Sunday mornings beginning at 9am and 5pm on Radio Sausalito (Scroll down for a list of musicians and show dates! – updated through 2025!)

Dave_Radlauer_2015Host/Curator: David Radlauer

In the 1950’s, Club Hangover was the local touring destination for the day’s top performers: storied names like Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, and Earl “Fatha” Hines.  Every Saturday, a half hour show was sent from the Hangover stage out over the radio to the entire west coast.  Radio Sausalito has acquired the largest ever collection of the complete broadcasts and is re-airing them in chronological order beginning in 2024.

Hosting the series is Dave Radlauer, former host of Jazz Rhythm on Radio Sausalito, an expert on the music of this period and custodian of several of the recordings included in the broadcast.

Incidentally, the Club Hangover building itself became the Nob Hill Theatre in the 1960’s staging gay burlesque shows for several decades, closing in 2018. A renovation of the property is currently being considered by the San Francisco planning commission, but will retain the original Club Hangover front façade.
